Biography

Donovan T. Maust, M.D., M.S., is a geriatric psychiatrist and health services researcher. He earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and then completed psychiatry residency and geriatric psychiatry fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He has two main areas of research interest: 1)understanding both the drivers and consequences of potentially inappropriate psychotropic use among older adults, focusing on benzodiazepines and antipsychotics; 2) exploring the factors that drive the potentially inappropriate healthcare delivered to adults with dementia.
